Updated: 12/28/2008 at 2:55 PM
WFA is pleased to announce the current 2008 Women's Football World Champions, the H'Town Texas Cyclones, will be joining the WFA. Closing out their 2008 Inaugural season with an 11-1 record, the Cyclones signed with the Women's Football Alliance, which has over 30 licensed teams across the Nation and still growing. “We are very excited to be a part the new league and are dedicated to representing Houston, TX and the Women In the World of Sports,” stated Cyclones co-owners Roxy G. and Lucretia G. “Our goal is to pave the way for our daughters and nieces by way of youth football camps to have an opportunity to play this sport in arenas as big as the NFL.” The Cyclones Coaching staff (J."POPPY"H., Robin H, Ronnie W., D. Steamer, and C. Polk) has acquired 3 Women's World Championships during their career (2000,2001,2002) and captured their fourth this year. “We are excited to have Championship teams in the WFA,” stated Jeff King, WFA President, “By keeping league fees affordable, each year we expect WFA teams to become more and more competitive. The Cyclones will set the bar high for 2009.”
